Nothing box ; a box without anything in it ..!!!

I don’t literally mean an empty box, but an empty “brain”. It’s more popular with males than females and there is a reason behind it. The different hemispheres of a man’s brain are never connected or they are well sorted; men are able to focus on narrow issues and block out unrelated information and distractions whereas there is connectivity between different hemispheres of a woman’s brain; they are better equipped to divide their attention among multiple activities or tasks. The female brain is more diffused and utilizes significant portions of both hemispheres for a variety of tasks; she can connect one thing with the other and jump from one topic to another ; linking matters are women power probably.

Males have a mystery box or what i call a “nothing box”. We all must have seen our guy friends with deep, thoughtful expressions as if they are too much engrossed into something and when asked they say its “nothing”. They will never speak out the truth about what’s going on in their mind ; sometimes it’s really nothing and they are just trying to divert their mind to a state of solace or calmness; or sometimes they actually phase out of conversations and enter their own world which may comprise of a memory linked to that conversation or a completely different thought which they might be reluctant to share with a particular group of people or they are much aware that disclosing their thoughts won’t do any good and cause more problems indeed; sometimes its their present and the thought of a future which is at war within their brain; but it’s not “nothing” always. It might be something serious or casual depending  upon the situation and it varies from person to person, but the thought process is always going even in the “nothing box”.

So people whenever your friend’s say they are thinking “nothing” please don’t bog them down to disclose; some things are meant to be kept personal and it’s better to leave it to them if they don’t want to share it with you.

Note: Thanks to my friends who inspired me to write this and took out time to answer my questions about guys.

  1. I can sense the research that you did for this post. Short, succint and observant. I’m now thinking how am I going to dodge ‘what are you thinking? – nothing’ situation the next time 🙂
